If you wanted a fast Apple in the very early 90's, there was no Power Macintosh let alone the Mac Pro yet. All you had was the Mac IIfx. The fastest 68030 Apple cranked out and bling'd out with the Snow White Design Language.

I had an original Mac II at work in 1987. The most amazing machine in the world, at the time.
Later on it got upgraded to a IIfx. I still remember the technote that said it was “so fast, it could run an infinite loop in 40 seconds”.
